Ways to pay for care.
Care may be paid for through personal funds, eligible Medicaid benefits, or a long-term care insurance policy. Medicare may cover qualifying skilled nursing or rehabilitation under its rules. Ongoing help with daily living requires a separate payment plan.
You can begin with “I’m not sure yet” as your payment choice while you explore the options. Medicaid rules and covered services vary by state. Check what your benefits cover and what you will need to pay before choosing care.

A few common questions.
How can I choose the right kind of care?
Start with the help you or your loved one needs each day, your preferred location, and your budget. The six care cards explain the options, and Help Me Choose opens a conversation with us. A care provider or qualified care professional can assess the support needed.
What’s the difference between Medicare and Medicaid?
Medicare and Medicaid support different care needs. Medicare may cover qualifying skilled nursing or rehabilitation. Medicaid may cover long-term services for people who meet their state’s requirements. Plan separately for ongoing personal care and confirm benefits with the relevant program. Read the Medicare and Medicaid guide.
Can I speak with someone in person in Washington?
Yes. Washington In-Person Consultation is available. Contact us to talk about where you need help and whether we can meet with you there.
Where can you help me find care?
In Washington, BestCareMatch offers in-person and online placement support, subject to service availability and applicable requirements. Our nationwide online placement service is being developed and expanded state by state. You may browse the directory across the U.S. and ask about your location, but listing coverage varies by category and individual placement support must be confirmed before we proceed.
What does it cost my family?
Washington families pay no placement fee for our placement assistance. A participating care home may pay us for an eligible private-pay referral; we explain applicable compensation and disclosures before a referral. Care homes charge separately for care, housing, deposits, and extras. For inquiries outside Washington, we confirm what service is available and explain any fee before you decide. Optional books and planning resources are separate purchases.
Who will help us, and what happens next?
I’m Sophi Garcia, the founder of BestCareMatch. I’ll listen to where you need care, what matters to your family, and when you hope to start. Then we’ll work through the next step together. When suitable options are available, I can prepare a short list of up to three places to discuss. Each place still needs to confirm its services, costs, and openings. Meet our founder, Sophimar Garcia.
What will a short list of care options tell me?
Your short list brings the important details together: each care home’s name, location, phone number, source information, and questions still to ask. We can go over it by email, text, or a call, based on your preference. I’ll help you see what to confirm before a visit, including services, openings, costs, and ways to pay. See an example and questions you can ask.
What does an Enhanced Profile tell me?
An Enhanced Profile is a paid listing that lets a care provider share more information. The listing features, provider recommendations, license checks, and availability confirmations are separate. Review the details, check the official source, and ask whether the provider can meet your needs.
